History
1969: After building his business up, Frank Williams starts running cars.

1970: Piers Courage killed during the Dutch Grand Prix driving a private session.

1973: Entered Formula One under the name of ISO.

1976: Disappointing partnership with oil man Walter Wolf.

1978: Williams Grand Prix Engineering founded. Australian Alan Jones signed to drive.

1979: Clay Regazzoni wins in Britain for Williams first Grand Prix victory.

1980: Alan Jones wins the Driver`s World Championship with Williams taking the Constructor`s title for the first time.

1986: Frank Williams seriously injured in a car crash and confined to a wheelchair.

1992: Nigel Mansell becomes the first driver to win the opening five rounds of a season and achieves a record of nine victories in total as Williams take the Driver`s and Constructor`s World Championships.

1993: Alain Prost wins his fourth world title and announces his retirement from the sport.

1994: Mixed feelings for Williams while record their seventh Constructor`s Championship victory to bring them level with Lotus in the all-time record. And back in there head the dead of Ayrton Senna in the San Marino Grand Prix.

1996: Williams win eighth Constructor`s Championship, Damon Hill wins first Driver`s World Championship, Jacques Villeneuve runner-up in first season.

1997: Williams win ninth Constructor`s Championship, Jacques Villeneuve wins first Drivers` World Championship in only his second season.

1998: Williams finish third in the Constructor`s Champiosnhip with drivers Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen fifth and seventh.

1999: Williams finish fifth and Ralf Schumacher is sixth in the driver`s table.

2000: Williams finish third in the constructor`s championship with 36 points. They introduce talented rookie, Jenson Button, to the sport and announce that they will be bringing Juan Pablo Montoya back from the CART series in 2001.

2001: Take four wins, their first since the 1997 season. Rookie Juan Pablo Montoya proves he was worth the switch with Jenson Button, and manages to more than match team mate Ralf Schumacher. BMW engine and Michelin tyres are major factors in the team`s improved fortunes.

2002: Second in the Constructors Championship with 92 points.

2003: Second in the Constructors Championship with 144 points.

2004: Fourth in the Constructors Championship with 88 points.

2005: Fifth in the Constructors Championship with 66 points.

2006: One of the most dissapointing years since long time with a 55.5% retirement in races brings an 8th place in the Constructors Championship and only 11 points.
