1972: Ove Andersson starts Toyota Rallying
1975: Andersson Motorsport founded, first World Rally Championship win
1993: Toyota Motor Corporation acquires Andersson Motorsport GmbH
1998 - 1999: Le Mans Programme
1999: WRC Programme ends after: 3 Manufacturers World Championships, 4 Drivers World Championships, 43 Victories. formula1 programme starts.
2000: Inauguration of new facility at Cologne. First ever Toyota Formula 1 V10 engine fires up
2001: Official test car launch at Circuit Paul Ricard. Intensive test programme commences. Official opening of Cologne facility to the media.
2002: Toyota makes his debut in Formula1. Together with Mika Salo and Allen McNish in the cars they manage to score 2 points in the Championship and finish on the 10th place.
2003: With 2 new drivers Christiano Da Matta and Oliver Panis they start a new season. It was more succesfull than the year before with 16 points in the championship on place 8th.
2004: In 2004 the same drivers stay as in 2003. However Christiano Da Matta moves back to Champcar around the end of the season and is replaced by Jarno Trulli. With a total of 9 points they finish 8th in the Championship.
2005: In 2005 the big change came with Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher. With 5 podium positions they have the best season so far. With 88 points in the Championship on the 4th place.
2006: Another disappointing year for Toyota. Even with the same drivers as last year they only manage to get 1 time on the podium. Also further succes is a little gone. With 35 points in the Championship they finish 6th. |
